initially, all characters get a maximum of four skills. however, by spending macca, a character would be able to obtain up to eight skills for their use. the values are as follows:

second to fourth skills [ if not included in the initial app ] -- free.
fifth skill -- 400 macca
sixth skill -- 500 macca
seventh skill -- 600 macca
eighth skill -- 700 macca

note that the staff will still check for balanced skills, and so may refuse your transaction should your skill set prove to be too powerful.
