FUSING

pretty much like all shin megami games, all that you require for a fusion is that you have the correct demons. you can find a fusion/defusion calculator and a detailed compendium here.
several factors can affect the outcome of a fusion, such as the phases of the moon or alignments.
on days of full moon, your demon will get an additional skill. if you're really lucky you can even get the demon to learn an additional skill and the demon's source skill or even get a higher-rank demon than you you were expecting.
on days of new moon, your demon might not be able to learn all the skills it's supposed to. also, if you're really unlucky your demon might have an unexpected weakness or you can even get a lower-rank demon than you expected.
another important factor is your alignment. if you try to fuse demons that have the same alignment as yours, it might get a bonus, but if you try to fuse a demon that is of the opposite alignment, it might get weaker. although if you have a neutral alignment, you don't have to worry about getting weaker demons but you won't be able to get any bonus either.
the bonus and weaking vary according to the demons used in the fusion process. stronger demons means better bonuses and worse weakness.
